Art Nouveau- "New Art"
A reaction to academic art of the 19th century, Art Nouveau was developed as a total art style: a philosophy of art, architecture and applied art, especially the decorative arts, that was most popular during 1890-1910. It was inspired by natural forms and structures, not only in flowers and plants, but also in curved lines. According to the philosophy of the style, art should be a way of life.
These designs are inspired Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a Scottish architect, designer, water colourist and artist. He was a designer in the post impressionist movement and also the main representative of Art Nouveau .
